Fitness Business Influencer Speaker Podcaster

Mel Tempest is the Chief Executive and the founder at Ignite Fitness Business Events, the host and founder of The Gym Owners Fitness Business Podcast and The Womens Leaders Fitness Business Podcast.

In 2017, Tempest, who organises fitness business events and roundtable events globally, was the first Australian to receive an award from the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) and, in the same year her Ballarat health club was in the top three Smart Company Australian awards.

In 2019 and in 2020 she was recognised as a top three fitness business influencers in the USA by the Association Of Fitness Studios.

In 2005 she was the first Australian to receive approval from the Equal Opportunity Board and Human Rights Commission to open Australia’s first male gym.

In early 2021, she was named 2020 influencer of the year by the US-based Fitness Business Association.

Anton Kajlich is the Managing Director of Anti Wave Global Pty Ltd. The son of Anti Wave founder Anti Kajlich, Anton proudly continues on the long standing tradition of Anti Wave, 
with a renewed focus on product innovation and development, as well as increasing the availability and distribution of all Anti Wave product offerings through the development of new global partnerships.

A previous Australian Youth Polo goalie, Anton brings over 25 years of knowledge and experience in the aquatics industry. He has previously worked as Product Manager for Anti Wave, responsible for global product research and development. He has also worked for over a decade in Export Market Development with the company; responsible for the formation of new global Anti Wave partnerships around the world including the establishment of Licensed production and distribution of Anti Wave products in key international markets and regions.
Anton is committed to driving the global expansion of the Anti Wave brand and product range, through the development of new cooperative partnerships, and with a focus on new product innovations to suit the needs of clubs and facilities around the world.

He explains “the Anti Wave story and company history is based on over 50 years of continual and longstanding innovation and product development, and working towards the best possible global availability and service for all clubs and pools from the smallest facilities right up to key international events; we continue that history today with a diverse range of new products and ongoing research and development activities to keep Anti Wave at the forefront of design and innovation in the sector. Simon Weatherill

Managing Director, World Wide Sports Management

A highly experienced chief executive, Simon Weatherill has exceptional skills in leadership development and business mentoring.

Since the mid 1990s he has assisted in building Melbourne's reputation as 'The Sporting Capital of The World' by developing four major facilities and creating the Melbourne Sports Hub where community and elite sport coexist.

Daniel Henderson

Director of the Functional Training Institute and founder at Dan Henderson Coaching

Having achieved a BA in Sport and Exercise Managment, Honours in Human Movement from UTS, Dan Henderson started training in the fitness industry in 2007.

In 2008, he set up personal training studio ‘Coastal Bodies’ in Sydney. With seven trainers, the studio became one of the top performing training premises in Sydney, before he sold the business in 2017 to focus on other projects.

In 2009, he co-wrote my first accredited course, the ‘Fundamentals of Kettlebell Training’. This course has been taught to thousands of trainers worldwide and is the most popular course in Australia for personal trainers.

In the last three years Henderson and his company has produced 10 more accredited courses that are taught to trainers, becoming Australia’s leading ‘Functional Training’ education institution, employing 28 presenters in eight different countries.

Wayne Middleton

Principal, Reliance Risk

Wayne Middleton, CVE, is current Chair of the VMA’s Venue Management School.  He has been a risk management instructor for over a decade at the School and is the Principal of Australian-based consultancy, Reliance Risk.

He has over 30 years’ experience in operating and consulting to public venue and events and has delivered projects across Australia, New Zealand, North America, South East Asia and the Middle East. 

He holds a Masters’ in Risk Management, a Bachelor of Administration, a Diploma of Security Risk Management, and is an active member of the Venue Management Association (Asia and Pacific).
