We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Health and Fitness Coordinator specializing in Group Fitness. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in fitness programming, group exercise instruction, and team leadership.

The Health & Fitness Coordinator - Group Fitness is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of a group fitness programs with a strong focus on member engagement, service delivery and program development.

The role will oversee the team of Group Fitness Instructors, ensuring that staff deliver exceptional supervision and service to members and be an industry leader with a strong focus on attracting new participants and raising the profile of the centres in the local and broader community

Job Description:

• Develop, implement, and oversee a diverse and engaging group fitness program.
• Create a schedule of classes that caters to a wide range of fitness levels and interests.
• Continuously evaluate and update the group fitness schedule to meet the evolving needs and preferences of our members.
• Recruit, hire, and train a team of qualified and enthusiastic group fitness instructors.
• Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for instructors to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Conduct regular evaluations to ensure the highest quality of instruction
• Lead by example and actively participate in group fitness classes. 
• Foster a sense of community within the group fitness program by organising special events, challenges, and social activities.
• Implement strategies to enhance member engagement and retention

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends 
• Certificate III and IV in Fitness
• Current Provide First Aid and CPR
• Qualified and experienced as a Group Fitness Instructor delivering various style 
• Classes that are fun, encouraging and maintain high attendances
• AUSactive Exercise Professional registration (or willingness to obtain)
• Group Fitness Leader Les Mills (GEL) (desirable)

Essential Requirements

• Certificate III in Fitness
• Certificate IV in Fitness
• First Aid Certificate
• Current Provide/Perform CPR
• Registered Exercise / Fitness Professional
• National Police / Criminal History Check
• Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check

Desirable Criteria
Les Mills GEL (Group Exercise Leader)
