The home of high performance and community sport in Queensland, Sleeman Sports Complex (SSC), is on the hunt for a new Venue Manager to lead the complex to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The venue, based at Chandler, hosts a range of facilities, including Anna Meares Velodrome, BMX Supercross Track, Brisbane Aquatic Centre, Geoff Henke Olympic Winter Training Centre, Chandler Arena, Outdoor Velodrome, Chandler Theatre, Queensland State Gymnastics Training Centre, Dry Land Diving facility and Pace Fitness gym.

Stadiums Queensland Chief Executive, Todd Harris said the role was a crucial part of the progress of community, athlete development and high performance sport in the state, advising "the Sleeman Sports Complex is fast becoming the home of high performance sport, with Olympic hopefuls and athletes at the top of their game training and competing onsite across a range of sporting disciplines, including swimming, diving, gymnastics, aerial skiing and moguls, weightlifting and cycling,” Mr Harris said.

“The venue’s mix of supporting amenities like accommodation, fitness centre, rehabilitation and the complementary benefits of other onsite elite programs have transformed it into an attractive hub for national sporting teams.

“It is also a significant community use venue, which caters to all ages and abilities, from learn to swim and ride programs, school and inter-school sports competitions, as well as State and National Championships, so it’s nurturing developing and Queensland’s high performance athletes on the pathway through to 2032.

“The venue was purpose-built for the 1982 Commonwealth Games, was a host venue for the 2018 Commwealth Games, and we expect to build on this suite of facilities to support the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the role will be crucial in helping to deliver this.

“We are looking for a high performing and energetic individual with excellent partnership building, team development, business acumen and strategic management skills.”
