About the position
This casual position supports our events team by preparing, maintaining and delivering safe events to a high standard and assisting the business with operational duties and tasks. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and self-driven Venue Operations Officers to assist in preparing the setup and pack down of events at our facility.
Responsibilities include:
• Supporting the delivery of venue operations
• Liaise with supervisors, coordinators & managers regarding event and general duties
• Follow WH&S guidelines, policies and procedures
• Deliver events to a high standard
• Assistance with general maintenance, placement and movement of equipment.
It is essential that you can think on your feet and to problem solve when things don’t go to plan. Remaining calm under pressure and working within a team to develop workplace relationships are qualities that you must have to be successful in this role. Flexibility to work a rotating roster is a must for the role, as the centre is operational 364 days a year.
About you:
We are looking for team players who are adaptable and flexible to accommodate change and provide responsive services to meet stakeholder needs. Of course, you will need to be well organised and have excellent time management skills, as well as be able to juggle and prioritise multiple tasks.
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following skills and experience:
• A firm understanding of meeting task deadlines
• Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly and efficiently
• Enthusiastic and have a genuine interest in sport or operations
• Self-motivated and able to manage time efficiently
• Hold a current Working with Children Certificate (Victoria)
• Shows initiative and is willing to assist others
• Operates in a safe and efficient manner
• Operates with a ‘can-do’ mentality and taps into as many sources as possible
