Randwick Council has advised that a new $10 million clubhouse is planned for Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club.

Randwick Councillors unanimously endorsed a four-year funding strategy to knock down and rebuild the surf club with approximately 40% of the funding to be externally funded through grants and fund-raising.

Founded in 1906, Maroubra SLSC is one of Australia’s oldest clubs. Membership has grown 26% in the past five years with 60% of that being young people.

Design work will now commence on the project with construction estimated to commence 2024/25 subject to obtaining the additional funds.
