The Association’s goals of inclusivity are exemplified by the structure of ABEA’s Membership offerings, which have been carefully designed to suit different business needs and sizes - from small to large.
To further ensure the diverse voices of the sector are engaged, members will be encouraged to participate in State and Territory Chapters, Sector Pillars and Special Interest Groups.
Sector Pillars will cover venues, suppliers, organisers, destination bureaux and tourism, while Special Interest Groups will focus on sustainability, emerging leaders, WH&S / risk, education, skills and pathways. Each will deep dive into specific issues, seek and provide market intelligence, and support advocacy efforts.
Peter King, Chair of ABEA notes “in order for our industry to grow we need to take into account the wide variety of businesses that serve or work within the business events network. The Board have carefully considered that these businesses have different needs and face unique challenges, so it was crucial to create membership options to suit these individual experiences.”
Membership options include Platinum, Gold and Silver, each with tiers defined by turnover. Platinum membership is open to large businesses and those seeking more direct participation in the Association’s advocacy, policy, and research, as well as access to the Association’s networking, business promotion, training and education.
Gold Membership has three tiers and is designed for medium-to-large businesses and provides opportunities to be part of key industry submissions and provide direct input to policy directions.
Silver Membership offers four tiers to ensure small businesses and sole traders, can have a voice in industry direction, are active in its development, and benefit from members services and promotional support required to grow.
Nicole Walker, Director of ABEA advised “we are dedicated to serving the whole of the business events industry and have created a structure that allows for everyone’s voice to be heard, and opportunities for all challenges and successes to be shared.”
Interested businesses are invited to visit ABEA’s website for full membership benefits and options, or email join@abea.org.au for more information
