Adelaide will host the 2017 World Hapkido Federation Championships and Seminar, expected to attract around 2,500 people of which 2,000 will be international competitors and delegates.

The announcement was made during the recent Destination South Australia (Destination SA) conference, with South Australian Minister for both Recreation and Sport, and Minister for Tourism Leon Bignell stating "this is a huge coup.

“South Australia’s reputation as a world class events destination continues to grow both intrastate and internationally.

"We have shown South Australia has the infrastructure, the environment and the culture conducive to attracting international visitors to our state.”

Hosting the 2017 World Hapkido Federation Championships and Seminar is expected to generate $5 million in impact to South Australia.
