Users of Aligned Leisure managed facilities in the Victorian communities of Cardinia and Nillumbik will soon be able to take part in a group exercise class at any time during the fitness centres’ opening hours.

Partnering with global group fitness leader Les Mills, Aligned Leisure is adding virtual fitness classes to complement the facilities’ existing group fitness timetable, allowing customers to join a class in front a large screen during hours when exercise studios are typically sitting idle.

Aligned Leisure General Manager of Operations Shane Dunne explains “this is an exciting customer- focused innovation.

"Our customers, like everyone, are increasingly busy, (so), by adding virtual classes to our extensive instructor led timetable, customers can now join a class when it suits their life, not our timetable.

“After analysing the unique needs of each of these communities, our team identified that a complimentary virtual solution would provide enormous benefit, and get even more people active”.

Works are currently underway at both Cardinia Life and the Eltham Leisure Centre to prepare the centres for virtual fitness, launching in September 2017.

The launch will coincide with the release of the spring group fitness timetables.

Aligned Leisure’s management philosophy is complete alignment of programs and services to the unique community needs, as outlined in Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plans.
