ASICS renews Australian Olympic Committee apparel and footwear partnership

ASICS renews Australian Olympic Committee apparel and footwear partnership
May 25, 2022

Sporting brand ASICS has renewed its partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) as its official performance footwear and apparel partner until 2026.

Following the success of the Australian Olympic Team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, ASICS will provide the performance kit for Australia’s elite athletes at the 2023 Pacific Games, 2024 Paris Olympic Games, and the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

The arrangement covers kits worn during competitions as well as athlete training apparel, leisure wear and other footwear.

Upon extending the ASICS partnership, AOC Chief Executive, Matt Carroll stated “we are thrilled to have ASICS renew the partnership with the Australian Olympic Team for the next four years, confirming a great partnership in sport.

“It’s crucial for the athletes to feel supported by innovative design when representing our country at the highest level, so ASICS footwear and apparel is the right choice for the Team.

“Our 487-strong Team in Tokyo proudly represented Australia in world-class ASICS uniforms, inspiring the nation with incredible performances and spirit. I look forward to Australians cheering on our athletes performing in ASICS over the next four years.”

In the lead up to last year’s Tokyo Olympic Games, ASICS leveraged its AOC sponsorship through a television campaign that combined everyday Australians and Olympic athletes demonstrating how to keep active.

The Japanese brand signed with the AOC in 2018 ousting adidas as its apparel partner.

The arrangement was an extension of ASICS already having the same asset with other high-profile national sporting bodies including Cricket Australia and Rugby Australia.
