The Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) awarded four industry professionals at its Symposium Gala Dinner in Adelaide last Friday night.

Anna Guillan, Executive General Manager Sales & Marketing for Hayman & Mulpha Hotels, was the truly surprised recipient of the Most Outstanding Contribution to Industry Award, sponsored by Qantas and Accor Hotels.

Announcing the award, ATEC Chairman John King explained "as a long time industry role model, and a wonderfully gracious person, this year's Outstanding Contribution to Industry award winner is an active mentor and sage advisor.

"Held in high esteem by all that know and work with her, Anna Guillan has contributed an outstanding amount to our industry and I am very pleased to be honouring her with this award here tonight."?

A special award was made in recognition of the great contribution made by Meredith Baxter to Young ATEC and her role as a strong advocate for ATEC's National Development Program, helping open it up to young people involved in the industry across Australia.

ATEC also recognised the significant and long standing contribution made by Qantas to both ATEC and the tourism industry nationally, with King adding "this award recognises another long-standing commitment to this industry, one which has been a key partnership for ATEC and which has helped to support the growth and success of Australia's tourism industry overall.

"The services and activities undertaken by ATEC over the years would not have been possible without Qantas support and unwavering commitment."

The Len Taylor Award recognising the contribution of a Young ATEC member went to Ben Woodward, Sales & Marketing Manager for The CaPTA Group.
