Conservation organisation Aussie Ark has opened its renowned 'Ark' facility on NSW's Barrington Tops allowing the public to encounter some of Australia’s most endangered animals.

The opportunity offers a behind the scenes look of a working conservation organisation, to meet iconic species such as the Tasmanian Devils, Eastern Quoll, Long-nosed Potoroo and Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby, and ask expert staff conservation questions.

The Ark is situated approximately four hours northwest of Sydney so a day trip is easy, otherwise you can book accommodation nearby at Devils Retreat or Quolls Cottage and make the most of your stay. Both these houses are located just 15 minutes’ drive from site.

Gates open daily from 10.30am to 1pm, with one guided tour daily at 11am.

There are BBQ facilities, and a delicious BBQ lunch can be pre-ordered via the website. There is also complementary tea and coffee, as well as other snacks and drinks to purchase, at the interpretative centre as well as merchandise for sale as souvenirs.

Aussie Ark Open Days are fun and educational for all ages and offer a unique Australian adventure for international visitors.

Entry tickets are invaluable donations to the organisation’s work. Investment allows for the construction of captive facilities and predator-proof fencing on semi-wild parcels of land. Aussie Ark is a registered environmental organisation and charitable institution under the Australian Charity and Not-for-Profit Commission.
