read moreWith today, 25th July, marking World Drowning Prevention Day, AUSTSWIM Chief Executive Bradley Low is calling on Australians to enrol to be an AUSTSWIM Swim Teacher to play an active part in drowning prevention.
Urging people to consider becoming an AUSTSWIM swim teacher to teach a skill for life, low points out that the World Health Organization’s ‘Go Blue’ campaign for World Drowning Prevention Day raises awareness that drowning is a public health issue and reminds people that anyone can drown, but no one should.
With drowning having caused 2.5 million deaths in the last decade, Low advises “drowning is a public health issue, and we can all play a role in taking action to reduce the number of people drowning by becoming an AUSTSWIM Teacher.
“Everyone has the right to learn to swim, so help us educate today for a safer tomorrow. We are committed to providing a skilled workforce across the country - and that’s why our ‘Summer Teachers Are Made in Winter’ campaign is so important to us.
“The demand for quality swimming and water safety lessons increases throughout the warmer months so winter is the perfect time to start playing your part in drowning prevention.”
Australia’s pre-eminent provider of swimming and water safety teacher training, AUSTSWIM, is committed to raising awareness around drowning prevention through the teaching of vital swimming and water safety skills and aims to recruit and educate as many new teachers as possible in the sector.
From now until the end of August 2023 AUSTSWIM is discounting its AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety courses to $299 as part of its ‘Summer Teachers Are Made In Winter’ campaign.
The AUSTSWIM ‘Summer Teachers Are Made in Winter’ campaign allows candidates to complete all requirements and be fully licensed to teach a skill for life as an AUSTSWIM Teacher, supporting the current demand and in time for summer.
AUSTSWIM has been Australia’s national organisation for the teaching of Swimming and Water Safety since 1979. In that time, we have trained over 388, 250 teachers of swimming and water safety and continue to train around 13,000 candidates annually.
