Bahrain waterpark presents Pirate spectacular

The Lost Paradise of Dilmun waterpark is presenting 'Pirates in Bahrain' for two weeks during the Eid Al Adha holidays next month.

Organisers of 'Pirates in Bahrain' are expecting up to 3,000 visitors a day to see the entertainment, which will be performed for 25 minutes, four times daily from 3rd to 16th November.

The show features a giant pirate ship, imported from Germany, will be set deep into the largest wave pool, with a 35-metre high mast and multiple diving boards where the actors will perform stunts and dive into the water.

The actors include former Olympic athletes, acrobats, dancers and gymnasts while the shows will feature pyrotechnics, sword fights, juggling, diving, a giant cannon and stunts.

The entire waterpark will be decorated in pirate paraphernalia, including restaurant staff and lifeguards in character and typical pirate-style feasts laid out for hungry visitors.

LPOD Assistant General Manager Issa Asmar explains that "Pirates in Bahrain consists of a series of wonderful bright and vibrant shows which will be showing four times a day.

"It will thrill audiences from all over Bahrain, the Gulf and hopefully the world."

LPOD Head of Marketing and Public Relations Adam Page adds that the show will see "an epic tale unfold before the audience as pirates perform incredible feats and amazing stunts before their eyes.

"We are really going to make this event 'full on' with the theme of the park, such as swashbuckling pirates everywhere, be it lifeguards maintaining safety dressed in full attire or restaurant waiters escorting people to their tables.

"Bahrain needs an event like this."

The US$50 million LPOD waterpark opened in September 2007. Set in 77,000 metres2 of desert oasis, it is the largest stand alone waterpark in the Middle East.
