Launched on Boxing Day, the Ballarat Pass offers discounted admission to the the city's major attractions Sovereign Hill and Ballarat Wildlife Park – with the soon to open Kryal Castle also set to join the scheme.

Pass holders also discounts at local attractions including Goldrush Mini Golf, The Tangled Maze, Bird World, Ballarat Ghost Tours and the Art Gallery of Ballarat.

The Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka will also be added to Ballarat Pass when it opens in May.

Ballarat Regional Tourism (BRT) Director George Sossi says that the pass helps visitors realise how much Ballarat has to offer in attractions, stating "the whole idea is to make sure people know lots of things are happening in Ballarat."

Sossi added that the Ballarat Pass, which can be purchased from the city's Visitor Information Centre, had already generated lots of positive feedback, including visitors being able to bypass queues at Sovereign Hill.

According to BRT, more than 180,000 visitors pass through the Visitors Information Centre each year.

And the Ballarat Pass is set for a further boost with the opening of Kryal Castle this weekend.

After a major multi-million dollar redevelopment the new medieval adventure park and resort will be hosting a 'Ceremonial Launch' on the Saturday 2nd March
