Bice comes to the role from almost four years at the helm of Be.Bendigo, a position that saw him provide invaluable guidance to that organisation as it endeavoured to provide support for the broader business community during lockdowns and restrictions.
Taking on the chief executive role at Victoria’s largest indoor sport arena outside metropolitan Melbourne - and the largest netball facility in regional Victoria - Bendigo Stadium Limited advised that it has “found a new CEO with aligned values and a desirable trifecta of skills - financial expertise, sports acumen and proven business development credentials”.
Announcing the appointment, Bendigo Stadium Limited Chair, Stacie Wright advised “Dennis comes to us with a deep understanding of the Bendigo community and a demonstrated commitment to building businesses and assets in the area.
“His time at AFL Central Victoria, his leadership roles at the Bendigo Bank and his time with Be.Bendigo have given him the perfect background for taking BSL on the next part of its journey, maximising our opportunities as we come out of the pandemic.”
Looking forward to the new challenge, Bice advised “BSL is a complex organisation with so many layers and it’s organisations like this providing access to sport, events and entertainment that are the heartbeat of regional communities.
“Providing facilities and services for the benefit of the entire community is something that I have long admired about BSL and I’m very much looking forward to being part of the future success.”
Apart from his professional skills, Bice has a healthy passion for sports and entertainment being a life member of the Bendigo Harness Racing Club and an inductee into the Bendigo Cricket Association Hall of Fame.
He commences his role with Bendigo Stadium Limited on 1st November.
Originally built in 1976, the Bendigo Stadium today offers 10 indoor multi-purpose courts and 12 outdoor netball courts.
Home of WNBL club, the Bendigo Spirit, and NBL1 club, the Bendigo Braves as well as many local netball and volleyball athletes, its last expansion project delivered a 4,000-seat show court arena which has hosted top international sport and entertainment events.
