Chengdu to Host FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series 2025 season opener

Chengdu to Host FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series 2025 season opener
March 1, 2025

The sixth edition of the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series will this year see the world’s best female stars face off in the downtown areas of 13 cities across three continents, taking the world's fastest-growing urban sport to millions of new fans worldwide.

The 2025 season will get underway in the Chinese city of Chengdu on 2nd and 3rd May - setting the stage for a global tour showcasing the world's elite female 3x3 basketball stars.

Building on a record-breaking 2024, the 2025 season will reach new heights with over US$1 million in prize money and first-time visits to Austria, Indonesia and the Netherlands.

Alex Sanchez, FIBA 3x3 Managing Director, commented “the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series has firmly established itself as the premier women's 3x3 competition globally.

"This aligns with FIBA’s commitment to one of its key strategic priorities, Women in Basketball, and the importance of providing all players with opportunities to develop their game on a global scale. We look forward to bringing the urban sports festival atmosphere to 13 downtown locations across three continents, creating lasting memories for players and fans alike.”

Following the success of the 2024 season on digital platforms, including a 51% increase in impressions, reaching 50 million, and a 64% increase in views, totalling 41 million, the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series is ready to deliver another engaging experience for fans around the world.

Created in 2019, the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series is the number one event on the 3x3 women's professional circuit. France won the 3x3 Women’s Series in both 2014 and 2019, while Germany claimed the title in 2021, and Canada won back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023. The FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series welcomes National Federations and private promoters alike.
