read moreCity Venue Management is opening a new swim school in Townsville on Saturday 9th July within the Stage Four expansion of the Fairfield Homemaker Centre.
The new swim school will be managed by Townsville local Dannielle Bryden (pictured above) and will offer Fish N Flips’ innovative curriculum of 'Play. Laugh. Learn. Swimming Re-imagined' which creates an inclusive and fun environment for learning to swim.
The spacious 354metre2 Fish N Flips Fairfield is the group’s second location in Townsville and just its third nationally. The Fish N Flips Fairfield venue includes a 14metre x 7metre main teaching pool which can host up to eight classes at a time and includes a purpose built teaching pool with built in benches to allow a safe space for students to sit. The facility also features change rooms, showers, a retail space and a relaxation area for parents to watch their children’s lesson.
Bryden advises “as the ‘Chief Flipper’ it’s my job as well as that of my ‘Flip Crew’ to ensure all our participants are having a fun time learning to swim. My background as a coach in the health and fitness industry has given me transferable skills to lead this exciting new opportunity particularly when combined with the vast expertise and resources of our health and leisure group City Venue Management.
“It’s the laughter and smiles on the children’s faces when they are learning a new skill and overcoming a challenge which is really rewarding and that’s why I am thrilled to be leading the Fish N Flips team.”
City Venue Management is a family-owned business with roots dating back to the 1950s, the business currently operates 28 aquatic venues across southeast Queensland and is backed by decades of experiences teaching participants of all ages and abilities how to swim.
General Manager Logan Maguire said over the years, Fish N Flips has learnt that that by keeping things simple, accessible and welcoming, a learn to swim environment which is like no other can be created.
Maguire notes “at Fish N Flips our little fish are encouraged to love the journey so they can build a positive association with the water, the fun and the creativity continuing right through the program.
“Our curriculum includes Baby Bonding classes for children as young as four months, a Mini Master’s Program for adolescents and an adult learn to swim service catering to families looking to learn to swim together in an inclusive environment.
“We’ll be able to teach around 50 students per 30 minutes and the venue can cater for 1500 students per week so there’s plenty of opportunities to come and learn how to build confidence in the water in a fun learning environment.”
Fairfield is City Venue Management’s first greenfield site and will embody their vision of new Fish N Flips venues into the future in its layout and design that aligns with their ‘Play. Laugh. Learn. Swimming Re-imagined’ approach
The Fish N Flips Community Day will be held on July 9th 2022 from 9am-12pm with a host of free fun activities from the Hit 103.1 radio street crew including games, giveaways, lucky door prizes, free cookies and free taster classes.
