Mornington Peninsula Shire’s new $10.5 million Civic Reserve Pavilion marks a significant milestone for Mount Martha Soccer Club, Mornington Little Athletics and Mornington Peninsula Athletics Club as it’s the first time they have a dedicated facility.

The new Pavilion has transformed Civic Reserve into a premier sporting and community hub via a $4 million State Government funding through the Community Sports Infrastructure Stimulus Program and $6.5 million Mornington Peninsula Shire contribution. 

The new pavilion is not only stylish but also built with the environment and reducing maintenance costs in mind. Features include: 

• Passive design including insulation, glazing and shading to improve energy efficiency 
• Large 50kW solar PV system 
• Efficient hot water heat pump 
• Rainwater tank to capture and reuse water 
• Efficient air conditioning, lighting and fixtures 
• Raingardens to improve stormwater quality 
• Low carbon concrete used in civil and structural design. 

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Anthony Marsh noted “the Civic Reserve Sports Pavilion is more than just a building – it’s a game-changer for our local sports clubs. For the first time, Mount Martha Soccer Club, Mornington Little Athletics, and Mornington Peninsula Athletics Club have a dedicated home, and I’m thrilled to see this vision come to life.

“This facility isn’t just about supporting grassroots sport - it’s also setting a new standard in sustainability with cutting-edge energy-efficient features that reduce environmental impact and ongoing costs.”
