Reflecting the boom in the active wear market, the comedy group, Skit Box, have mocked the trend for women to not only exercise in their active wear but to also wear it when shopping or dining.
The two minute video takes viewers through everyday activities, with the women wearing colourful crop-tops, gym pants and sneakers - without actually getting ‘active.’
The video starts with a woman walking on the promenade at Coogee Beach and running in to a friend. “Are you going to the gym,” she asks. “No”, her friend replies, “I’m just going shopping in my activewear.”
The girls then appear in a series of scenes showing them participating in selfies, coffee dates, shopping and going to the movies – with logos of popular activewear brands Lorna Jane, Nike, Reebok, adidas and Puma appearing on screen throughout.
At one point, the well-known Nike slogan is changed from 'Just do it' to 'Just Buy it', among others.
Other activities done in active wear include getting a manicure, showing off their babies, drinking a Coke Zero, smoking while waiting for the bus, being hung over and never exercising.
