Destination NSW seeks industry input into 2030 tourism strategy
April 24, 2024

Destination NSW is inviting tourism stakeholders from across the state to contribute their insights and expertise to a review of the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2030.

The opportunity to shape the future of the NSW visitor economy follows the state recently achieving a historic milestone, surpassing $50 billion in visitor expenditure in the year ending December 2023 for the first time ever.

With the NSW Government having ambitious plans to drive that economic growth to even greater heights, Destination NSW is reviewing and evolving the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2030.

Despite the impacts of the pandemic lockdowns, visitor expenditure had a compound annual growth rate of 6.4% over the last 10 years.

The NSW Government’s new tourism strategy is looking to improve cultural experiences for tourists while also expanding visitation to Western Sydney and regional NSW.

Inviting input to the Strategy, NSW Tourism Minister, John Graham stated “the visitor economy is going from strength to strength.”

Individuals and organisations have until 2nd June to share their perspectives online via Have Your Say
