Dreamworld and WhiteWater World report profit loss

Dreamworld and WhiteWater World report profit loss

Macquarie Leisure's two Gold Coast parks, Dreamworld and WhiteWater World, have both reported profit losses for the full-year period ending 30th June 2009.

Dreamworld earned $87.4 million in total revenues, a decline of 4.3% compared to the prior year. Earnings for this period were $31.5 million, a 6.3% loss.

Total attendance for the park dropped 5.1%, however, per capita spending rose 0.9% to $64.87.

WhiteWater World earned a total of $16.2 million in total revenues, which is a decline of 2.6% compared to last yearâs results. Total earnings for the year also fell, with a decline of 5.3% to $7.1 million.

The introduction of the dual park, one and two day World Pass resulted in an attendance increase of 16.5%. However, the World Pass generated lower per capita spending.
