Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld is introducing two new attractions for the upcoming holiday season.

As the attraction counts down to its 30th birthday later this year, a new high-action adrenaline ride 'BuzzSaw' will take the park's 'Big 6' thrill rides to a 'Big 7'.

The ride, an Australian first, will be the highest inversion ride experience in the Southern Hemisphere.

Seated in an open carriage, BuzzSaw riders will be held in by a single waist harness with little to cling on to before being flipped and dangled upside-down 15 storeys in the air. Their carriage then free-falls through a 360-degree heart roll and plummets down a final vertical drop at speeds of up to 105 kilometres per hour.

The ride, A Maurer Sohne SkyLoop ride, is currently under construction and is scheduled to open on 17th September.

Dreamworld has also introduced a new wildlife experience this week, to coincide with National Threatened Species Day.

The Tiger Feed Experience gives guests the chance to hand-feed Dreamworld's famous tigers. The new experience replaces the park's former tiger walks.

Both new attractions will be fully opersational in time for the spring school holidays.
