Dubai Government allows recreation facilities and spa centres to reopen

Dubai Government allows recreation facilities and spa centres to reopen
July 4, 2020

The Government of Dubai has advised that the latest easing of its Coronavirus restrictions will see recreation facilities, spas and theme parks able to reopen although they will not be allowed to host events, live entertainment and parties or social gatherings.

In its latest update of the phased re-opening of the Emirate, the Dubai Economy agency said indoor playgrounds and inflatable playgrounds, virtual reality and edutainment facilities, interactive entertainment centres and arcades and escape rooms can now open.

However, Dubai Economy said parties and social gatherings are still not permitted, and baby and toddler soft play areas (such as ball pit) will remain closed.

As reported by Arabian Business, in addition to recreation facilities, Dubai Economy  advised all summer camps running in all types of facilities, including child centres, schools, hotels, sports clubs and gyms, libraries and art centres can now open.

The indoor theme park IMG Worlds is allowed to open, but not allowed to host events, live entertainment and parties or social gatherings.

Massage and spa services are also permitted to reopen from today, which includes those in hotels, malls, salons and barbershops outside malls.

However, Dubai Economy said steam rooms, saunas, inhalation rooms, ice rooms, Jacuzzis, hot bath/Moroccan bath/Turkish hammam are not allowed to operate at the moment.

Those operating each facility must do so with COVID-19 health and safety measures, while customers must maintain social distancing and wear masks.
