read moreNewly launched product Eco Gym Wipes are offering gyms and fitness centres a more environmentally friendly way to manage the threat of COVID-19 and other germs in their facilities.
Produced as an alternative to synthetic and single use chemically derived cloths, Eco Gym Wipes allow gym exercisers to clean down equipment post-use with a reusable and ethically produced product.
Made from bamboo fabric that can be reused after machine washing, the product offers, according to Isabella Somers, Creator and Director of Eco Gym Wipes, “a superior choice for gym participants and gym operators through the delivery of health and sustainability in a more costs effective manner than current alternatives.”
Somers, who created the product in response to concerns about waste, explains “each year textiles, including single use wet wipes, contribute over half a billion kilograms of landfill in Australia and two-thirds of these contain synthetic or man-made fibres.
“(With) Australians becoming increasingly environmentally conscious and pressure for businesses to take on best practice initiatives and respond more sustainably, Eco Gym Wipes help gyms and fitness centres not only reduce waste but assist with the management of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in a more sustainable way.”
Eco Gym Wipes, which are available for bulk purchase by gyms and fitness centres, come in a handy three pack with one wash bag.
Each wipe has a detachable hanging loop to conveniently attach the wipe onto gym equipment or a towel care label for ease of use with the wash bag able to be used to transport wipes to and from the gym separate from personal belongings.
Somers sees Eco Gym Wipes as a highly compatible product for environmentally-conscious gym and fitness centre participants and a more affordable long-term option for gym operators, adding “Eco Gym Wipes are made from an antimicrobial bamboo fabric and are more durable and sustainable than cotton, as bamboo can be grown without chemical fertilisers or pesticides.
“Integrating this eco-effective product into a business will increase brand awareness, conserve nature, and improve the financial resources of the business in the short- and long-term future.”
