read moreThe recently constructed and renovated Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden (ERBG) visitor centre has survived the Clyde Mountain fire which damaged the Botanic Garden’s grounds at northern Mogo.
Eurobodalla Shire Council advises that the new building which includes a visitor centre, herbarium, café and education hub was constructed to high fire standards, using selected hardwoods, "with these conditions in mind".
The building was handed over to ERBG Manager Michael Anlezark on Friday, 20th December and has yet to be officially opened.
A Eurobodalla Shire Council spokesperson noted "there has been extensive fire to the grounds. Other damage will be assessed as soon as it is safe to do so and resources permit.
"For safety reasons, the site will remain closed to the public and volunteers until further notice."
