Exercise innovator brings Electric Muscle Stimulation technology to NZ Fitness and Health Expo

Exercise innovator brings Electric Muscle Stimulation technology to NZ Fitness and Health Expo
October 27, 2017

XBody New Zealand founder Sabine Parry will this weekend present cutting-edge Germany body-shaping technology that is revolutionising the fitness industry in Europe at the NZ Fitness and Health Expo in Auckland.

The Electric Muscle Stimulation (EMS) technology makes fitness and strength workouts more efficient with less impact on the joints and over 500,000 people in 55 countries now regularly participating in XBody workouts.

XBody has developed a special EMS suit which triggers the muscles to intensify the workout and replicate a regular workout in a fraction of the time, without using any weights.

Sabine Parry, who was a leading EMS trainer and part of the advisory board of Europe’s biggest franchise system using EMS in Germany before bringing the full-body suit technology to her new home in New Zealand, explains “the EMS technology enables you to activate deep muscle tissue that traditional strength training is unable to reach.”

Extensive research by a leading German university in Bayreuth concluded that two 20-minute workouts each week with the XBody suit has the same impact as six to seven hours of conventional gym sessions. It showed that the body burns around 500 calories in the short session, but the muscles keep burning up to 2000 calories in the next 48 hours.

Parry, who works with clients but is also the Mastertrainer of the EMS Institute to train fitness trainers to use the technology in New Zealand studios, advises “the workouts are faster, harder and better.”

The XBody software programmes range from high-performance workouts to gentle muscle activations for the elderly and can be adjusted to target specific muscle groups.

The technology has been embraced by leading athletes around the world including Usain Bolt, Real Madrid star Karim Benzema and is a regular feature with high-profile sports clubs like Bayern Munich.

Parry explains that “these athletes use XBody to amplify their strength and conditioning work and train their fast-twitch muscle fibres or to enable them to continue high-intensity training while recovering from injuries.

“Whatever fitness level you are at, XBody can add an edge to their normal training schedules, enable you to keep training while you are injured and speed up the recovery process.”

Many top athletes have embraced the technology, but Parry says that the biggest demand has been among regular men and women who want to get their body into shape, but may not feel comfortable in a weights room.

Parry adds “XBody is the perfect low-impact way for men and women to get into shape without having to use any weights. You will notice visible body changes after only four to six weeks of work-outs.”

The fast, high-intensity workouts are ideal for busy professionals who want to stay in shape, but do not have time for long gym workouts.

XBody has revolutionised the fitness industry in Europe and New Zealand fitness studios can now also add a cutting-edge new dimension to their studio.

The XBody programmes are delivered though its monitors and the latest XBody Newave is a smart, slick and beautiful addition to any fitness area. It only takes up a tiny amount of space and only requires 2 metre² to perform a workout.

Parry concludes “the latest XBody ActiWave with its video screen enables studios to offer individuals sessions with a qualified trainer or small groups to join an XBody group session with instructions provided by video.”

Aside from the fitness benefits, the low impact muscle strengthening has also shown to have significant medical advantages and is widely used by leading European physiotherapists for medical and rehabilitation.
