Held at the Rainforestation Nature Park in Kuranda, now in its 16th year of operations, the evening saw over 110 attendees from across Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome, Rainforestation, Wildlife Habitat, Tropic Wings and CaPTA Head Office.
CaPTA Group Managing Director Peter Woodward said the overall winner, Suzy Buttar of the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, was chosen from six very worthy finalists.
Woodward advised “Suzy joined us at the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary in 2009 and has been very adaptable and flexible in working across multiple sites from the onset of the COVID pandemic - she’s a very well-deserved winner.”
Rainforestation showcased its iconic experiences, with canapes served in its Wildlife Park whilst their three new Tasmanian Devils put on a feeding show.
Following a special performance by the Pamagirri Dancers, guests were seated in the restaurant for a delicious buffet meal.
Other winners included:
Training Award
David Dunworth, Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome
Social Media Content Champion
Anna-Rita Evans, Tropic Wings
Social Media Viral Video Award
Jen Moloney, Rainforestation Nature Park
Bright Idea Award
Rob Jung, Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome
Advising that the evening was an opportunity for the whole team to get together and have fun, after another difficult year for the tourism industry that’s only just now recovering, CaPTA Group Director of Sales and Marketing, Ben Woodward added “one of the more light-hearted, favourite traditions of the evening is a competition where each company puts forward a fun video they’ve made celebrating their finalist, won this year by CaPTA for their ‘Suzy Wants To Be With You Everywhere’ by Fleetwood Mac
“Every year it becomes quite a production, and always puts a smile on everyone’s face.”
