read moreFollowing a program of fundraising during November, Fernwood Fitness has officially donated $128,291 to the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
The leading women’s gym, which has a long history of partnering with BCNA, aimed to raise $100,000 through members, staff and friends in the network during November.
However, the generosity of all involved led to a large than expected donation which will go towards continuing to support Australians affected by breast cancer through BCNA’s services, resources and programs.
BCNA Chief Executive Christine Nolan is excited about the difference Fernwood’s donation will make to the organisation, stating “this is the second year of Fernwood’s ‘$100k for BCNA campaign’ and it’s amazing to see all their clubs and members go above and beyond to show their support and raise money for Breast Cancer Network Australia.
“It’s a wonderful partnership that we are very proud to be part of, and we want to thank everyone involved.”
In beating the target of raising $100,000, Fernwood Fitness Chief Executive Di Williams thanked the group’s 69 clubs, staff and members for their support, stating “we can’t thank our members and staff enough for getting behind this incredible cause.
“Our community of women are amazing and we will continue to support all women in every aspect.
“This money will make a huge difference in many Australians lives that have been affected by breast cancer and we are so thrilled we can help.”
Fernwood Fitness raised the money from 1st to 30th November through a number of in-club events and promotions and a link on the Fernwood website redirecting visitors to purchase a 14 Day Pass for $20, with all proceeds going towards BCNA.
Friends and families of the network also donated to the cause through an Everyday Hero page set up for the duration of the campaign.
