Fitness Australia has announced significant changes to its industry awards program with the new Australian Fitness Awards.

Expanding on its former Active Achievers program, and incorporating elements of the Australian Fitness Network’s former awards program, the new initiative includes new categories for individuals and fitness businesses while being open to anyone and everyone from the fitness industry.

Announcing the new program, Fitness Australia Chief Executive Bill Moore is excited by the Awards, in particular the rejuvenation of the business categories.

Speaking at the FILEX Convention today, Moore advised "the 2019 Australian Fitness Awards include seven business categories, three categories for individuals, and one community award.

"Plus the new awards program is open for everyone in the fitness industry to nominate."

With a range of new categories, and the ability for individuals and businesses to nominate themselves, as well as clients and customers being able to nominate them, the stage is set to find some truly remarkable stories.

The Australian Fitness Awards provide opportunities to recognise and reward fitness industry professionals, business, educators and their students for their contribution, commitment and service in the Australian Fitness Industry.

Seven Business Awards
• PT Business of the Year
• Boutique Business of the Year
• 24/7 fitness business of the Year
• Council/licensed Fitness Business of the Year
• Independent Fitness Club of the Year
• Chain Fitness Business of the Year
• Quality Fitness Business of the Year

Three Individual Awards
• Group Exercise Instructor of the Year
• Personal Trainer of the Year
• Fitness Student of the Year

Community Award
• Community Excellence Award
