Held by the nation’s peak fitness industry body, Fitness Australia, the Awards recognise and celebrate individuals, businesses and community groups dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Australians by providing exceptional programs and high-quality professional services.
South Australian personal trainer Emma Brown was announced the winner of the inaugural Lorna Jane Inspirational Woman of the Year Award with activewear brand Lorna Jane Founder and Chief Creative, Lorna Jane Clarkson saying this award represents their brand's mission to empower women to live a life that they love through active living.
Clarkson notes “I think it’s important to celebrate achievements and I’m particularly passionate about celebrating women’s achievements. Along with our commitment to celebrating inspirational women year-round and previous awards we have held, I am thrilled that the team and I at Lorna Jane have been able to create this new award as yet another way to celebrate inspirational woman in the fitness industry.
“What was particularly impressive was that there were so many worthy candidates which made it extremely difficult to choose just one winner.”
Brown is the Personal Training Manager at The Lodge Fitness Centre in Salisbury East and has been recognised for her outstanding dedication to her clients that see her going above and beyond to support them during their health and fitness journey.
Clarkson added “what I loved about Emma’s story is her passion to go beyond just the physical with her coaching. She is truly passionate about what she does - giving her clients a total life approach to health and wellbeing.”
Brown prides herself on being more than just a personal trainer to her clients, she builds a friendship with each client and makes an effort to get to know them beyond their physical needs, to be able to motivate and support them to achieve their goals.
Brown’s commitment to her clients and their fitness journey, often sees her checking in with them in between sessions, providing workout plans that they can do on their own and even training side-by-side them on days that she is not providing personal training services.
The coveted Personal Trainer of the Year Award, sponsored by Lorna Jane aims to recognise trainers who consistently deliver high-quality, safe and nurturing services to their clients and who go above and beyond to make a positive impact in their community through fitness.
Daniel Munro, a sole trading personal trainer at Campbelltown’s Fit n Fast Gym has been recognised for his passion, dedication and commitment to delivering exceptional training services to his clients, as well as his ability to adapt his teaching methods to suit his client’s needs and abilities.
Testament to Munro’s thorough knowledge and dedication to health and fitness, in the last three months alone, he has aided four clients in significantly reducing their blood pressure levels resulting in their GP’s either reducing or taking them off treatment medication all together.
Munro’s experience and adaptability has seen him deliver quality personal training services to clients ranging in age and fitness levels, including children with disabilities.
With an extensive history in martial arts and boxing, Munro is known for delivering group fitness classes incorporating his skills of martial arts. To further his skills as a personal trainer, Munro is committed to his professional development and has completed 67 CEC points in the last two years, along with other upskilling courses.
Fitness Australia Chief Executive, Barrie Elvish, congratulated the Australian Fitness Award winners and said the award recipients’ stories of commitment and excellence were outstanding.
Elvish advised “every award winner has demonstrated the upmost dedication to the health and wellbeing of their communities through consistently delivering high quality services in a professional and safe manner.”
