read moreReed Exhibitions has today announced that it is rescheduling The Fitness Show Sydney to September but that its B2B component will not now run until 2021.
With the joint event, due to have been held at the end of this month, postponed in line with Australian Government regulations to combat the Coronavirus, Reed Exhibitions today announced that The Fitness Show Sydney will take place at the ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour from 25th to 27th September.
A statement from Reed advised “we fully understand and appreciate the level of planning that is required to participate in an event like ours and we will do our utmost to help all our customers, partners and attendees to prepare for the new dates.
“Our number one priority is the health and safety of our exhibitors, delegates, industry partners and staff and, as such, we will remain guided by the expert advice of the public health authorities.”
In a separate communication, Reed advised that “due to the escalation of COVID-19 globally”, the Fitness Show B2B event will now take place on 30th April and 1st May next year.
Explaining this, Reed added “we were optimistic that The Fitness Show B2B would run later this year and our principle focus was on ensuring that any new dates were ideally positioned to support all our customers in capitalising on a more positive return to trading.
“The dates that were given to us did not meet these criteria and so we have made the difficult decision not to run the event this year.”
The statement concluded “although The Fitness Show B2B will not take place in 2020, we are firmly focused on delivering positive business and networking opportunities to Australia’s vibrant fitness community at our consumer-focused event The Fitness Show (events in Sydney and Melbourne).”
The Fitness Show Melbourne will take place on 24th and 25th October 2020 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Fitness Australia and the owners of the FILEX Convention are expected to make an announcement that the 2020 edition of the popular event will be online event.
