read moreFootball Federation Victoria (FFV) members restored gender balance to the FFV board at their AGM at the end of March, with the election of two new directors: Hanife Ymer and Reiko Okzaki, and the re-election of existing board directors Antonella Care and Sezar Jakupi.
The remainder of the board comprises Nicholas Tsiaras, Ken Steel, and Kimon Taliadoros as President.
New director Okazaki is a barrister, teaches law at Monash University, and is a former Director at Murray United FC, while Ymer is Director, Risk Consulting (Climate Change and Sustainability; Internal Audit Risk and Controls Services at KPMG and a committee member of the Darebin Women's Sports club.
They will be joining Antonella Care, the lone female Director remaining on the board following the exodus late last year of Tal Karp, Sandra Lordanic, and Tammi Rose, along with then Chief Executive Cathy Acocks.
Care has a background in architecture and engineering and is a principal of Connect PM, Australia's largest health and aged care-specific project management firm.
Following the AGM, FFV President Taliadoros stated "in addition to the FFV members reaffirming their commitment to the current board, they have elected three outstanding female directors at a time when the benefits and balance of board diversity and skills are critical to the prudent governance of Australia's largest participant sport."
