Former Victorian Sport and Tourism Minister Martin Pakula named Chair of Crown Melbourne
April 16, 2025

Crown Resorts has announced that former Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport, and Major Events Martin Pakula will join the Board of Crown Melbourne as Chair as of 1st May.

He will succeed Ian Silk, who will step down from the position on 1st July 2025.

Silk is described as having been “pivotal” in guiding Crown Melbourne through a significant period of transformation and remediation over the past two and a half years.

Under his leadership, the Melbourne venue successfully regained its operational license from the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission, a critical milestone in the company’s recovery.

Pakula, who brings a wealth of experience from his roles as Victorian Attorney-General and Minister for Tourism, Sport, and Major Events,, is currently serving as Chair of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.

Announcing the appointment, Crown Resorts Chief Executive, David Tsai stated “I look forward to Crown benefiting from Martin’s extensive industry and leadership experience.”

Welcoming his appointment, Pakula noted “I am delighted to accept the role of Chair at Crown Melbourne and to play a role in its exciting future.”

His appointment is pending necessary regulatory approvals.
