read moreAs the Tour de France cycle race begins in Europe, Geelong's Leisurelink aquatic and recreation centre has begun its own tour, the Tour De Leisurelink.
Starting on Sunday 6th July and concluding on Monday 28th July, the 23 day event sees Leisurelink's interactive Expresso exercise bikes programmed to coincide with the length of the rides in the legendary French cycle race.
Also being offered at Geelong's Waterworld facility, during each day of the 21 day Tour, the Expresso bikes have been programmed to coincide with the length of the rides in the Tour De France, to add a similar feel.
For example, the first day on Sunday 6th July is the 14th longest ride on the Tour De France schedule this year - 190 kilometres from Leeds to Harrogate. Therefore, the first day on the Tour de Leisurelink became the 14th longest ride in the Geelong event, being the 12.2 kilometre Odyssey track on the Expresso bike's interactive handlebar mounted console.
Click here for more information, while each participant must sign up to 'Le Tour' at the gym office at Leisurelink.
The interactive features of the Expresso bikes enable exercisers to have more fun, involve their friends, workout harder and achieve better results.
Expresso bikes are distributed by The Fitness Generation (TFG) in Australia.
