Germany’s FSB Trade Fair commits to October dates in 2021

Germany’s FSB Trade Fair commits to October dates in 2021
October 16, 2020

Looking to play “a decisive role in the post-COVID era in showing solutions and trends for resumed future success” the organisers of Germany’s FSB, the International Trade Fair for Public Space, Sports and Leisure Facilities, have committed to stage the next edition of the biennial from 26th to 29th October next year, also introducing special cancellation conditions in place for FSB as well as its other 2021 events.

Announcements for FSB 2021 advise that the event will have a new layout concept, as well as a commitment to the provision of top-quality international event program. It has also advised the IAKS-Congress 2021 is taking shape and that FSB will once again be co-located with aquanale, the International Trade Fair for Saunas and Pools.

In 2019, FSB attracted 28,000 visitors from 128 countries along with 565 exhibiting companies from 43 countries and, according to a representative survey, exhibitors were correspondingly satisfied with the international character, as well as the high-quality visitor profile of the event.

Praise was also given for the increased presence of decision makers from municipalities, of architects and of sports and leisure infrastructure operators with two thirds of exhibitors saying they had met the goals they had set out to achieve at the trade fair and 86% saying that they had been able to make new business connections.

The decision to move FSB’s public swimming pool area to the co-located aquanale event was welcomed both by exhibitors (93%) and visitors (97%) of both trade fairs, as this means that the trade fair’s specific topics can be communicated more effectively and synergies can be exploited more fully.

The 2019 events saw Australasian companies saw skatepark-designers Convic Pty Ltd, Pacific Seating Pty Ltd and Play Hard Sports Equipment exhibit at FSB while Anti Wave International and Leisure Pools and Spa Manufacturing Pty Ltd exhibited at Aquanale.

Special cancellation conditions
Organisers Koelnmesse have put special cancellation conditions in place for its 2021 events.

Taking account of the Coronavirus pandemic, all exhibitors have the possibility to cancel their participation free of charge without giving reasons up to three months before the start of the event.

Timely receipt of the cancellation in text form is sufficient for cancellation.

In addition, within the last three months before the start of the event, exhibitors can also cancel free of charge, provided that within this period a ban on entry to Germany applies to the exhibitor based on his registration address or his region of origin has been qualified as a COVID-19 risk area. Cancellation is also possible free of charge if, due to a travel warning from the exhibitor's country of origin for travel to the region of the trade fair, a return journey is unreasonable due to official regulations of his country of origin (e.g. quarantine regulations of more than five days) and the exhibitor is also unable to realize his participation in the trade fair by employees from another country while avoiding the above mentioned restrictions. The reasons for the cancellation within the last three months must still be present at the time of cancellation and must not been announced more than 14 days before the cancellation.

With Koelnmesse assuming all the risk of Coronavirus related cancellations, companies can apply to exhibit without the worry of cancellation penalties should they later have to cancel because they cannot travel.

FSB is held at the Koelnmesse GmbH international trade fair and exhibition centre in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
