Goodlife Health Clubs, in conjunction with Ultra Lite Health Management, have launched 'Revive', a new weight control program.

Initially being trialled at Goodlife's Alexandra Hills health club in Queensland, the program is a first among Australia's major fitness club chains.

Revive Weight Control claims to offer clients a new, holistic approach to weight control, combining the three key elements to weight loss: attitude (mind), diet (menu) and exercise (movement). The program is delivered by qualified nutritional and movement coaches, who provide the one-on-one coaching and support.

Goodlife Chief Executive Leon McNiece explains "we know a large proportion of members join our clubs to lose weight. The aim of Revive is to offer a weight control solution that meets these member needs, while also appealing to the deconditioned market."

Information about Revive claims participants can lose up to 10 kilograms in weight in five weeks, and that the participant will learn the life-long skills to maintain that weight loss.

The Ultra Lite eating program, on which the Revive eating program is founded, was developed over 14 years ago by a Melbourne naturopath, whose goal was to create a holistic program based on healthy eating principles of wholesome, natural foods.

The program is approved by a number of private health funds listed from whom participants may be entitled to claim a refund. The health funds are Australian Unity (also incorporating Grand United), Commonwealth Bank Health Society, Health Care Insurance Limited, Manchester Unity, MBF and its alliance brands, Medibank Private, Queensland Teachers Union Health Fund, The Teacher's Union Health Fund, St Lukes Health and Teachers Union Health.
