GymMaster introduces its Gatekeeper

Gym membership software provider GymMaster has introduced Gatekeeper, a door control system designed to be an integral part of the hardware for 24/7 fitness club access.

Designed to ease checking members in for bookings, and determine whether a member is allowed access outside of staffed opening times for 24/7 access, Gatekeeper relies on an internal database, meaning it is able to correctly make decisions on whether a person can gain access to the gym without being connected to the internet for a significant time period.

Improved to keep a subset of a facility’s database that will periodically update its internal database, Gatekeeper is unaffected by power, network or internet failure, leaving members able to continually access a gym.

Provided Gatekeeper is paired with a serial reader as well as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) that’s connected to the readers, door looks and any additional access control equipment, the Gatekeeper will remember who is allowed access to your facility as long as the battery is running.

Designed as a low cost reliable way to provide access control for members, Gatekeeper also functions as a miniature PC allowing it to remember whether a member previously had access or not.
