read moreOn the first day of the Chinese New Year, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will launch a pilot scheme to foster family volunteerism as part of the successful 'Give a Day, Get a Disney Day' program.
More than 10 non-government organisations (NGOs) and corporations have been invited to join the scheme through Agency for Volunteer Service, which encourages families to do voluntary work together. Once families achieve targeted service hours within a given period, they will be given park tickets in appreciation for their efforts.
Hong Kong Disneyland has invited about 100 representatives from the Neighborhood Advice-Action Council, the Outlying Islands Women’s Association and other not-for-profit organisations to mark the launch on the 5th February of the pilot scheme and celebrate the New Year at the resort.
Paul Chan, Financial Secretary, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, will be the guest of honour at the ceremony. A lion dance team formed by students from the Buddhist Fat Ho Memorial College in Tai O will stage a performance to share New Year blessings with guests.
