Two quiet sessions have been set aside at the Winterland festival in Campbelltown so children, young people and adults with a disability can enjoy the ice skating, rides and attractions at their own pace during the July school holidays.

Both sessions include a sensory tent and there will be no announcements, flashing lights or music played at each event.

Campbelltown City Council has worked with Winterland contractors Joylands and Stars on Ice to provide two free, 90-minute quiet sessions at the ice skating spectacular, with bookings for both events open from lunchtime today.

Campbelltown City Mayor George Brticevic stated “we are hosting these two quiet sessions to meet the needs of our community and to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy this unique festival during the school holidays.

“We hosted Winterland for the first time last year and it was extremely popular with our community and we wanted to ensure that everyone could be comfortable to take part this time.

“We are conscious of the individual needs of our residents and responding to be inclusive every way we can."

Winterland is returning to Koshigaya Park for the school holidays and will open from Saturday 6th July to Sunday 21st July.

The quiet sessions will be held 8.30am to 10am Tuesdays 9th July and 16th July and be provided at no cost to people with a disability, their carers and siblings.
