The fifth annual International Conference for Evidence Based Aquatic Therapy (ICEBAT) will take place next year in Las Vegas from 14th to 16th April - the first time the event will be held in the United States.
The event gives physical and occupational therapists a platform to discuss the abundance of new scientific findings supporting the use of aquatic therapy in rehabilitative medicine.
After successful turnouts in other countries, most recently in India, organisers decided to bring the conference to the states where therapists and patients are increasingly exploring the benefits of water.
ICEBAT 2018 Organising Chair Stacy Lynch explained that the Conference will see "in-depth discussions (that) will bring new ideas into clearer focus.
“You will learn new techniques, discover unique ways to critically approach issues in your practice, and share experiences and fellowship with aquatic therapists from across the globe.”
Lynch will be among 11 keynote speakers, who include renowned aquatic therapy experts from Japan, Germany, Australia, Finland, Sweden and the Netherlands, presenting the latest research.
Lynch is the owner and Director of Programming of Inertia Therapy Services in Phoenix, Arizona, USA and published the first case review on the effects of aquatic therapy on Alzheimer’s disease.
The 2018 ICEBAT expected to attract 200 to 300 physical and occupational therapists, as well as fitness and aquatics professionals.
