Promoted as a highly cost-effective means to control algae with just 1 litre of the ground-breaking solution required per 100,000 litres, it also promises a simple treatment application with no premixing required, as the solution simply needs to be poured directly into the pool.
Introducing Algae Shield, IXOM Product Manager, Brendan Murray explains “commercial pool operators will find it highly effective (as) Algae Shield can control harmful algae after just one application and prevent growth for up to 30 days.
“It can be applied in one location and it then evenly distributes itself throughout pool. Algae Shield even gets under ladders and in all those places that are difficult to brush. It does not foam. There are no embarrassing bubbles, foam or water scum. And it’s compatible with chlorine, bromine and salt chlorine generators.
“Algae can often become resistant to other algaecides, but not Algae Shield. Furthermore, it contains no quaternary ammonium compounds. It will not harm humans, animals, fish, plants or grass at the recommended dosage rate.”
Algae Shield have published a comparison chart which details its effectiveness against other solutions.
