Junior cyclists are preparing to participate in this year’s Goulburn Workers Junior 2 Day Tour taking place on 30th April and 1st May 2022.

Since 2005, when the Goulburn Cycle Club established the Tour, it has cemented its place as the biggest and most successful junior tour in NSW and one of the biggest in Australia.

The Tour is a selection event for the NSW Junior Road Team and Round 2 of the NSW Junior Road Series. It’s expected to attract riders from a wide area, including Victoria, South Australia and Queensland.

Tour Director, Graeme Northey notes “The Cullerin Road course which starts and finishes in Gunning, is ideal for a major junior event with minimal traffic making it safe, particularly for the very young and less experienced riders. The terrain is testing but not too difficult to cater for all abilities.”

There are four stages to the tour. Day 1 will include both Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 1, commencing at 10am, will see all age groups ride for a 5.4km round trip. Stage 2 is a Road Race, commencing at 12:15pm – with staggered start times across the age groups – will see varying distances from 5.4km to 67km.

Day 2 will include Stage 3 and Stage 4. Stage 3, commencing at 9am for Time Trial's, has distances from 3km to 13km varying for the different age groups. Stage 4 is a Road Race, commencing at 11:45am – again with staggered start times – will also see varying distances between 7km to 45km for the different age groups.
