read moreWonder Full, the spectacular light and water show that captivates audiences every night at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, has been awarded the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Award for outstanding contributions to the tourism industry in the category of Heritage and Culture.
Created by Laservision, the 13-minute show on the waters of Marina Bay beat hundreds of entries worldwide to take home the prestigious award of which past winners include the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tourism Malaysia and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
Wonder Full is a stunning showpiece of visual effects using interweaving lasers, searchlights, LEDs, video projectors and giant streaming water screens. The show is set to an original orchestral sound track created especially for the show by renowned Singaporean music composer Iskandar Ismail, and cutting-edge technology.
Previously awarded South East Asia’s Best New Tourist Attraction, Wonder Full continues to receive global recognition for its success and contribution to the tourism and attraction industry.
Marina Bay Sands Chief Executive and President George Tanasijevich states “Wonder Full is truly a water, land and sky-based 360-degree experience like no other.
“It acts as a beacon across the bay, encouraging locals and tourists alike to visit Singapore and Marina Bay Sands. We are very proud of this most recent award.”
The Pacific Asia Travel Association operates with over 80 government, state and city tourism bodies; 50 international airlines, airports and cruise liners and many hundreds of tourism companies across the Asia Pacific region and beyond to promote the development of tourism.
The annual PATA Awards recognise organisations and attractions that have made outstanding contributions to successfully promote the travel industry in Asia Pacific.
Commenting on receiving the Award, Laservision General Manager Asia Shannon Brooks explains “we are delighted that Wonder Full continues to capture the hearts and minds of thousands of visitors and locals weekly and has been recognised by PATA for its contributions to Singaporean culture.”
Laservision also lit up the heart of the Singapore’s 2014 National Day celebrations Marina Bay Sands, projecting images of the Singapore flag onto the architecturally distinctive Sands SkyPark atop the Marina Bay Sands’ three towers.precinct and beyond.
