read moreLooking to highlight and award excellence among Individuals and organisations within Western Australia’s aquatic recreation industry, LIWA Aquatics has announced that entries are open for the 2024 Western Australia Aquatic Recreation Industry Awards.
Introducing the awards, LIWA Aquatics advise “the awards are designed to highlight and award excellence of Individuals within the aquatic recreation industry, aquatic facilities, their staff and organisations and provide an opportunity to formally recognise their commitment to improving aquatic recreation communities, programs, facility operations, management and safety.
“The awards provide a powerful motivation tool to encourage ongoing professional development for individual, and organisations and building community engagement.”
Nominations for the Awards are now open and close on 14th July.
The Awards will be presented on 15th August during the LIWA Aquatics 2024 Conference and Trade Show at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The awards span multiple categories, each highlighting significant contributions and achievements within the aquatic recreation industry.
Organisation Award Categories:
Waterwise Aquatic Centre Awards
Recognises aquatic centres committed to saving water through the Waterwise Aquatic Centre program, which supports centres in implementing water efficiency actions.
Sustainability Award
Celebrates excellence in sustainability practices in the built environment, focusing on energy and resource management within aquatic facilities.
Community Impact Award
Honours facility-based programs that enhance community well-being through access, inclusion, and support for healthier lifestyles.
Aquatic Facility Safety Award
Acknowledges facilities demonstrating outstanding safety culture and continuous improvement in aquatic health and safety outcomes.
Watch Around Water Awards
Rewards excellence in promoting water safety in both metropolitan and regional facilities.
Swim School of the Year
Recognises swim schools excelling in programming, customer service, risk management, and community involvement.
Individual Award Categories:
Swim Teacher of the Year
Celebrates teachers who show commitment, professionalism, and excellence in aquatic education and safety.
Industry Service Awards
Recognises individuals for their years of service and contribution to the aquatic recreation industry.
Pool Lifeguard of the Year
Honours lifeguards for their excellence in customer service, lifeguarding skills, and leadership.
Aquatic Technical Operator of the Year
Celebrates individuals excelling in customer service, safety, and facility management.
Emerging Leader of the Year
Recognises young leaders (aged 18-30) showing passion, motivation, and potential leadership in the industry.
Smith Robertson Award
The most prestigious award, acknowledging outstanding achievements and contributions by an individual to the Institute and the Aquatic Recreation Industry over many years.
