read moreLotte World, South Korea's largest theme park has just signed the largest contract in the waterpark industry for a new waterpark to be located in Kimhae, near Busan, South Korea.
The $22 million contract specifies that WhiteWater West will engineer, manufacture and install 100% of the waterpark's indoor and outdoor attractions.
Expected to be completed by May 2013, the Lotte World Waterpark will feature a thrilling array of waterslides including two MEGAtube rides: the new Family Rattler and Family Python, the legendary Family Boomerango, AquaLoop, Abyss, an eight-Lane Whizzard, Family Raft Ride, Dueling Master Blasters® as well as speed and body slides.
In addition to waterslides, Lotte World Waterpark will also offer a 35 metre pneumatic Surf Wave pool; a smaller, indoor 18 metre Family Wave pool, a FlowRider® Double and two AquaPlay multi-level interactive play structures - an AquaPlay Giant RainFortress and an AquaPlay AP1050, both featuring large tipping buckets.
Lotte World Waterpark will also showcase some of WhiteWater's finest custom theming with complex custom-designed Polynesian themed waterslides, AquaPlay structures, towers and much more.
Announcing the contract a delighted WhiteWater Chief Executive Geoff Chutter stated "WhiteWater is thrilled to have been chosen as the supplier and manufacturer for Lotte World Waterpark. This project will be a wonderful showcase of WhiteWater's signature attractions and we are proud to be part of such an industry leading project."
Lotte World also offers the world's largest indoor theme park (pictured), an outdoor amusement park, an artificial island, shopping malls, a luxury hotel, a Korean folk museum, sports facilities, movie theatres and the Lotte Water Park.
