read moreMelbourne and Olympic Park’s Rod Laver Arena, known for hosting major sporting events and concerts, has this weekend transformed for the third annual Dreamhack event.
Dreamhack, Australia's largest esports event, saw thousands of esports fans, gamers, artists, cosplayers and creators descend upon Rod Laver Arena.
The centre court transformed into a PC gamer haven, with big brands MSI and Intel showing off the latest in gaming technology.
The venue offered plenty of opportunities and places for gamers and creators to meet new friends, relax and learn.
In the entrance foyer, mega mobile game Pokemon Go had an exclusive 'Poke Stop' where gamers could pick up in game items and earn rewards; many trainers took a moment to snap a picture next to the Pokemon Professor.
Outside the venue, a rainbow road connected the main arena to the free-play gaming zone and a dedicated area for LARP (Live Action Role Play) enthusiasts.
Artist Alley hugged the perimeter of Rod Laver Arena which saw creatives having their artworks on display for people to buy.
Big names in the podcasting world, like Trash Taste, took the main stage to answer questions from fans.
Hosting an all-new 3D concert for the first time in Australia, hololive production x DreamHack Melbourne 2024: Down Under featured an incredible line-up. Talent performing at the concert include: Houshou Marine, Tokoyami Towa, Kureiji Ollie, Pavolia Reine, Mori Calliope, and Hakos Baelz!
Following Dreamhack's successful event in Melbourne which concluded on Sunday, 28th April, the event moves on to Dallas, Texas later in May.
