With this year's theme ‘Make Way.’ the Fuel Women’s Fitness Business Summit awarded the 2024 Fuel Woman of the Year to Mish Wright.
The Fuel Women’s Fitness Business Summit was held on Friday 3rd May at Sydney’s Hilton and along with awards, the Summit included presentations from women in leadership roles and panel discussions.
The Fuel Woman of the Year award seeks to celebrate and honour the trailblazing women who are reshaping the landscape of the fitness industry with passion, innovation, and a touch of fearlessness.
The award is given to women “who aren't just breaking barriers but shattering them. These are the visionaries who've carved their own paths, the rebels who've turned challenges into opportunities, and the champions who lead with both their heads and their hearts.”
As the Head of Education at Women’s Fitness Education, Wright now leads the charge in shaping how fitness professionals approach women’s health right from the start of their training. This role allows Wright to impact the foundational learning of future fitness leaders, ensuring they are equipped to support women effectively.
With over 30 online courses, Wright has set up Mish Wright Education and Consulting to help others and organisations with their online education. Her consultancy assists organisations in enhancing their educational and training programs with a strong emphasis (but not limited to) on women’s health.
Wright describes her superpower as an educator as being the “ability to simplify complex health and wellness concepts into practical, actionable steps for professionals and their clients. Now, as an Education Consultant, I also mentor others on how to do that, too.”
As an Education Consultant, she is focussed on making learning engaging and relevant, ensuring that organisations create online programs that are both professional and engaging.
In 2021, former Fitness Australia (now AUSactive) awarded Wright, Council on the Ageing (COTA) Victoria Team Leader Online Education, as National Fitness Educator of the Year.
The industry accolade awarded to Wright was testament to the commitment of her hands on and collaborative approach to education with older Victorians.
Wright was also the organiser of the Women’s Health and Fitness Summit (last held in 2016).
