read moreNot-for-profit raffle Play For Purpose has launched across Australia, already fundraising for more than 150 grassroots sports clubs and charities.
Play For Purpose is an online raffle for sports clubs and charities designed to create a highly efficient platform to raise funds for their cause. 50% of every ticket sold goes directly to the supporters sports club or charity of choice, with $500,000 worth of prizes on offer.
Play For Purpose General Manager John Corry said Play For Purpose is a free platform for charities and clubs to utilise with prizes guaranteed, advising “this is a win-win experience for our partners and their supporters.
“Supporters can simply go to the (Play For Purpose website), find the club or sports organisation they wish to support, buy a ticket and go into the draw to win over 7,500 prizes.”
Australian Sports Foundation Chief Executive, Patrick Walker said they are always looking for new ways to raise money to help sports clubs improve community health outcomes.
Walker commented “Play For Purpose supplements the established fundraising programs we have in place, and is a great solution for clubs wishing to run raffles to boost funding so that more members of their communities can improve their physical and mental health through sport.
“There’s no cost to participate and a minimum of $5 from every $10 ticket will be granted to our clubs for charitable sporting projects, distributed via the Australian Sports Foundation,” Mr Walker said.
“We already have grassroots sports clubs from around Australia using Play For Purpose to fundraise and we encourage more clubs to use this highly-effective tool.”
Charities including Orange Sky Laundry, Sporting Wheelies, RSPCA and the Cowboys Foundation are also currently fundraising through Play For Purpose.
The first Play For Purpose raffle closes on 27th February 2019 and will be drawn on 28th February 2019. Play For Purpose will conduct six raffles in 2019.
