read moreWith traditional fitness challenges often seeing a waning in enthusiasm after the first few weeks, co-founders of My Inspiration Never Dies have developed and launched a new format for gym-based fitness challenges reinforced with allied health intervention.
Graham Dudley and Deanna Niceski are the co-founders of My Inspiration Never Dies – innovators in health and wellbeing. Dudley has a background in global distribution and sport performance coaching so intimately understands the purpose of individualised periodisation and how habitual change occurs while Niceski is an experienced Accredited Exercise Physiologist with a deep personal knowledge of life management and client care.
Dudley and Niceski note “traditional fitness challenges of six or eight weeks have been found to have initial enthusiasm that slides away after the first few weeks. Often the only beneficiaries are people who are fitness oriented originally and therefore many people who are in sincere need of fitness and wellbeing lose traction.
“Research has shown that, on average, only 40% of participants actually complete a challenge with many suffering injuries within the first three weeks due to poor preparation, over-loading or a lack of education from the trainer on holistic group training (i.e. one size fits all, no matter of the individuals’ capabilities).
“Motivation drops quickly and often a member can slow down or even stop attending the gym after a challenge (or worse, stop exercising all together).”
Offering an alternative approach to the traditional fitness challenge, Dudley and Niceski have developed ‘Explore Eighty4’, exclusively available through My Inspiration Never Dies.
Explore Eighty4 is an evolution that connects 84-day cycles called seasons across the years and migration timelines of the member in complete isolation to their own lives, availability and goals.
The 84-days are split into three phases:
66 days is a proven period where habitual change can be created so this is the ‘achievement’ phase of the program.
To ensure professional support, advice and direction each client receives four personal virtual consultations with a My Inspiration Never Dies Accredited Exercise Physiologist within the season. The first is a goal setting and onboarding session to understand underlying conditions, motivations and targets. The following three are phased through the achievement and reflection phases to ensure the client is motivated and on track.
From the moment of subscription to the program, the client receives access to the My Mind Voyage interactive journal experience offering 24-chapters plus resources specific to life, movement and 10 pre-designed goals. The journal is then referred to with small tasks and games via 30 personal touch points through the voyage that provide nudges to keep the client focused.
The Exercise Physiology team provide personal training programs for the client that can be integrated into their gym routine and reinforced with their Personal Trainer to further create a purpose to move and be fit. This also ensures engagement and retention to gym owners.
Once the season concludes, the client can take-off in their own direction or wait just seven days for the next season to begin where they can reset their goals, take another step forwards to whatever their desires may be.
Social connection is essential to keep people motivated so rather than starting the clock when the client subscribes, My Inspiration Never Dies has aligned all seasons to specific start dates with a locked calendar of topics throughout. Season one for 2025 begins on Sunday 5th January but this doesn’t mean everyone has to be available for a workout, it just means their individual journey clock starts.
Dudley advised “we want gym owners to engage with this program for their own wellbeing and to create social connectivity across all their member demographics. By creating a home of wellbeing, they can benefit from higher retention rates, remuneration under the subscription model and see visible return on investment through a healthier community aligned to professional allied health practices too.”
Due to the many focus topics of the experience, partner venues can align to the dates with events and proactive sessions or workshops. For example, Sunday 12th January is focusing on ‘Power of Choice’ so the venue could hold a dedicated session that day with this topic as a theme.
Dudley and Niceski add “Explore Eighty4 inverts the attention to those who are in need of practical and clinical support whether on a weight change program, suffer from chronic pain, on rehabilitation, with disabilities in need of management or just seeking some mindfulness support and direction.”
