read moreIn the increased venue security climate, with arenas and stadia restricting items that patrons can carry with them when entering events and sporting fixtures, a Sydney company is meeting the need for clear bags in which people can carry their belongings.
The Clear Bag Shop supplies a range of ‘stadium-approved’ clear bags in different sizes including tote, clutch and drawstring bags that meet venues’ security needs to screen what patrons and fans want to bring into venues.
With an increasing number of venues demanding such bags - and banning backpacks and handbags - the trend has been brought into focus by security measures during American singing star Taylor Swift’s current Australian concert tour.
Fans at Swift’s concerts on her Reputation Stadium Tour have only been allowed to carry one bag made of clear plastic, vinyl or PVC, or a one-gallon clear plastic 'freezer bag' (Ziploc bag or similar).
While a small clutch or wallet (less than 10cm x 15cm) was permitted during earlier concerts on Swift's world tour, these were subject to searches with the possibility of fans being denied entry.
Ariana Grande enforced a total bag ban during her recent Australian tour, following the deadly bombing at her Manchester, UK concert in May 2017.
The Sydney Cricket Ground Trust was one of Australia’s first venues to require patrons to carry clear bags at the end of 2017.
Benefits for patrons carrying clear bags include faster venue access while management and security remove uncertainty about what is being carried into venues.
The Clear Bag Shop is the first dedicated company in Australia to offer clear view bags to the Australian marketplace.
In a statement on Facebook, the business advises “following the success of clear view tote bags throughout the USA, Australian stadiums and sporting venues are set to follow.
“Looking ahead, it won’t be long until clear bags will be an entry requirement for all sporting, music and concert venues across Australia and New Zealand.”
